Wild birds are protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, which prohibits the take (including disturbance, capture, destruction) of protected birds, active nests or eggs without authorization by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

The American coot is a tough and spirited waterbird that spends much of its time dabbling in shallows and grazing vegetation on shore, foraging over mudflats, or just loafing.

Coots are social birds, often seen in large groups. Large gatherings in parks and on golf courses can become a nuisance.

We have various tactics to get coots to move out of an area, but timing is critical. Call us sooner than later to develop a plan.
