Encounter with a Human-Conditioned Coyote

A few weeks ago, our coyote response team had the unique opportunity to document and work with a human-conditioned coyote - a coyote that had learned (from humans) to associate people with food - handouts.
In this video, we show how a human-conditioned coyote may readily approach a person for food, yet, it retains a healthy fear of humans.
Since we'd had reports about a coyote being "reactive" towards other dogs in this neighborhood, we tested this particular coyote's response.
With the goal of making this residential block hostile and unwelcoming, the coyote was hazed hard, and a motion-activated scare device, called the Yard Enforcer, was installed in one of the backyards where the two coyotes had been observed.
According to residents, since the encounter with these two coyotes and the intensive hazing, the coyotes were not observed for over two weeks.
